Humans as Aquifers
for those times in which we exist simply to move water from place to place

"Dehydration is the loss of water and important blood salts such as potassium and sodium. The kidneys, brain, and heart cannot function without a minimum of water and salt. Signs of Dehydration begin with thirst, dry mouth, cracked lips, and progress with the development of sunken eyes, a rapid but weak pulse, cold hands and feet, blue lips, rapid breathing, confusion, and lethargy. Untreated severe dehydration may result in seizures, permanent brain damage, or death. Thank you for coming tonight. Please turn off any cell phones, pagers, or electrical devices."

Jessica Klein Bottle

the Klein Bottle is a single-sided bottle in which the outside is the inside. Unlike its simpler counterpart, the mobius strip, it can be physically realized only in four dimensions, since it must pass through itself without the presence of a hole. A crab that crawled the surface of such a bottle would never encounter barriers to its movement.

Jessica Two Ideograms

An ideogram is a graphic symbol that represents an idea. There may be cycling between episodes, or episodes may be mixed.

***Isolation, Hopelessness, Loneliness, Self-Loathing, Depersonalization, Loss of Appetite, Anger, Burns.
***Optimism, Euphoria, Decreased Need for Sleep, Increased Creativity, Racing Thoughts, Grandiose and Delusional Ideas, Absolutely Unstoppable, Sleeping Pills.

Jessica Baba Yaga

Baba Yaga is a fearsome witch who lives deep in the forrests of Russia. She has iron teeth and lives in a hut elevated on chicken legs. The house spins about emitting blood-curdling screams, sometimes surrounded by a fence of bones with glowing skulls lighting up the walk.

The guzheng is the Chinese forerunner of the Japanese koto and Korean kayagum. It originated over 2,300 years ago and is one of the oldest plucked instruments in China.

Jessica Neurotoxin

Neurotoxin (n.) - a toxic agent or substance that inhibits, damages, or destroys the tissues of the nervous system, especially neurons (the conducting cells of your body's central nervous system). Neurotoxins comprise the main lethal component of cobra venom, which kills by binding to a receptor on the muscle and preventing the nerve impulses which induce muscle contraction, leading to the cessation of breathing and eventual death.

Jessica Ave Maria

Originally written for an aborted performance in the Dominican Cathedral of Toulouse, France, June 2000.

ave maria, gratia plena, dominus tecum,
benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus,
fructus ventris tui iesus, sancta maria, ora pro nobis,
amen.

Tower of Silence

Pavlov's Tower Of Silence was the site for his experiments of the physiology of digestion. A converted staircase, the tower consisted of eight rooms in which every environmental factor from temperature to vibration to sound could be controlled. It should be considered that even when we are not ourselves in isolation chambers being manipulated to provide a pre-specified response, our behavior is constantly being shaped and influenced by factors we may not be aware of, and of which it is not always necessary to be a willing participant.
